Alright. Finally I am getting back to this. Expect more again REAL soon

Enjoy This One

Apollo Brown

CHECK THIS OUT!! Wow! Black Milk and Big Pooh (Little Brother) are killing it on this track!! REAL Detroit drums are alive. Nice

Nas & Damian Marley

Ok, so I gotta touch on this I think. I heard about this collab 3 or 4 years ago when Damian Marley had Nas lay down a verse on his album "Welcome to Jamrock" At first I wasn't too big of a fan because he really went away from the deep reggae that made him known(also because his name is Marley). As I listened more I really started to enjoy the album. When I heard the news that a full LP was coming out awhile back, I was also very skeptical. After listening to a few leaked tracks, this shit is FIRE! Check it out for yourself and get a copy of this album.

RIP GURU

I am getting tired of these tributes to amazing musicians that are passing away way too early. This time former frontman of one of the most influential hip-hop groups ever, Gang Starr has passed away. Guru was only 43! It comes as a shock after he released a statement that said he was in cardiac arrest not too far back. For full info check this story...

Just to help the cause here is a video tribute of my top 3 Gang Starr songs. Enjoy

RIP GURU!

RIP NUJABES

I can't believe that I have to say this. One of my favorite producers has just passed in a tragic car accident in Tokyo. He inspired me alot and has one of the best songs I have ever heard, Blessin It (See Below) Always one of the hottest in Japan and around the world, a true king of Jazzy Hip-Hop, Nujabes will be forever missed.

He truly does live on in his music. Thank you Nujabes, for everything you have done for Hip-Hop.

RIP

Lauren Hill, Where Did You Go?

Not only did Lauren Hill have a great solo career, but in the movies, and featured on others songs' might have raised her to the status that she raised to. Wish she was still around to help bring back good music. The soulful voice is surely missed. Top 3 Lauren Hill projects

Old School Jam #12

I used to love her too. Thanks Common.

Bring back the old, and out with the new.

WOWZA

So, I have always been a fan of Kid Capri, but I never knew how big of a fan I was until I saw this video of him live in Japan. He's not mixing. He's not changing BPM's. He is dropping tracks, and man he is doing that. Its a walk through hip-hop with this one.

Be impressed by Kid Capri

Old School Jam #11

Bringing it back, one video at a time! Sit back and enjoy this one.

Mayer Hawthorne New Video

Check out the new video to "Green Eyed Love" By Michigan's Mayer Hawthorne. Pretty low budget video but none the less its pretty trippy. Enjoy, and hop on the Mayer bandwagon. This dude is getting more if not as much play as any other Stones Throw recording artist.

Freeway & Jake One

The new album collabo by Jake-One and Freeway came out today on CD, and next week on vinyl. They are both crazy, not only the music but the layout of both products. The cd folds out into a wallet with 4 $1 bills of both Jake One and Freeway, with an instrumental download card. The vinyl comes with the picture money too and the vinyl is a marble green. Shit is fresh. Check out these videos if you don't believe me.

Oh Ya...The music is dope too

RIP J Dilla

As one of the best known producers of all time J Dilla was always doing his own thing. Whether he was with Slum Village, Common, Phat Kat, Erykah Badu, Q-Tip, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Busta Rhymes, Dwele, Madlib... he always did his thing. He will be forever missed in the hip-hop community and as an influence for a lot of people. Today February 10th, 2006 Jay Dee died of Lupus. In honor of him I want to share some of the videos, which he has produced, layed down a rap in, sampled, or appeared in. Here we go...the BIG 10 of J Dilla

Sound familiar? The original sample from "Love Jones"

Old School Jam #9

Luchini this is it what! This song is crazy. It have to admit one of the better songs of the 90's and very underrated for sure. Camp Lo just came out with some stuff recently too. Should check it out but most likely can't compare to this.

PS Thanks to everyone that came out for NYE! It was a blast playing all the club music. Can't go wrong with sometimes getting into the guilty pleasure side of music.

Happy 2010 Everyone!!
